Nebula Foundation volunteers to organize Meet Your Neighbours events, especially for newcomer families, to help establish support and identify their needs. At these events, the newcomer family meets with the local Edmontonian family. During the friendly conversations around the dinner table, participants talk about their struggles, hardships and needs, which helps our volunteers to take their notes and plan upcoming help projects for participants.

Nebula Foundation volunteers organize many kinds of youth programs such as weekend school, guidance counselling sessions, after-school programs, conversation circles, homework clubs and summer camps.

Nebula Foundation members and volunteers organize most of the events with the support of local families. Therefore, it is one of the most critical tasks for our volunteers to look after and support families in our City of Edmonton. Nowadays, due to Covid19 restrictions, our volunteers cannot visit families in person. Thus, phone calls and virtual meetings became popular to follow up with local family members. Our volunteers connect with local families to follow up with them and look after their needs, as most are newcomers. A friendly voice makes all the difference.

Nebula Foundation volunteers offer virtual support for its members in need. Due to Covid19 restrictions, Virtual Support became popular, especially for those who feel lonely during their isolation. Through Virtual Support, our volunteers could shop for those who are in isolation due to Covid19. Our volunteers also organize weekly and monthly online conversation circles to connect our members. As a result, VS became very helpful and popular for those who could not get together in person.
